The Freebie for this week is called

Citrus Zest

Okay so I'm sure many of you have played with one of these fun little cutters but I had not tried one until the other day.  What fun!
I cut circle after circle and it was sooo easy!  Quick adjustments make it easy to cut any size circle you need.  So with all those circles on my hands I had to find use for them....this weeks table runner and place mats are made with them.  The runner and mats are reversible and so simple to make.  I even used one of my decorative stitches on my sewing machine to do the quilting.  Don't worry if you don't want to invest in the little cutting gadget, you can always trace the circle template and use a small regular rotary cutter or scissors to cut your circles. 

A few things to note about the freebie:

• all you need to do to get your freebie is drop by the shop Friday, Saturday or Monday and pick one up. The pattern is free with any purchase and are free with a $1 donation to charity otherwise. Quantities are limited so you might want to call and reserve a copy but please call during shop hours and speak to us personally so we don't miss messages left on our machine. We'll save reserved copies until Monday at 5pm. Remember you need to pick the pattern up yourself.
• if you miss the freebie offer, don't worry, most patterns are available for sale in the shop
• Most of all, have fun and I hope the designs inspire you to keep sewing and quilting.
• Please do not photocopy or reproduce the pattern to share with friends. They are welcome to come to the shop and pick up their own copy to enjoy.

Chained to Pieces

We all have baskets and bags of scraps. This quilt gives you the chance to use up a few of those scraps.  With picnic season here, this would be a great quilt to toss in your car and have on hand for your next picnic.  Not into sitting on the grass...use it on the park picnic table for a table cloth.  Of course it would also make a nice sofa throw for your next lazy day nap.
